Nike Girl
by George Lundeen
Rest awhile on the wooden bench
next to this mesmerizing likeness of a teenage African-American
girl taking a break from her jog in the Hawaiian heat.
With a wet towel around her shoulders and well-worn
running shoes, "Nike Girl sits refreshed and
contented after her run through the garden," explained
Mrs. Doty about this piece by one of her favorite sculptors,
George Lundeen of Colorado.
